Ok so that might be a bit embarrassing but I do love dancing. This post was inspired by a colleague who told me that I should just “dance my way “into the Marketing Academy via an experiential piece in your office. Now I’m sure that would have been entertaining but instead I’ve opted for just telling you a little about my love of dance…
If I could have another career (and another level of fitness) I would have loved to have been a dancer. I’ve tried so many styles from Flamenco to Cabaret (mostly ones that don’t require a partner since my husband would never join me). But as time is precious I now dedicate all of my dance time to Scotland’s Indian dance company, Dance Ihayami, both as a director and as a dance student.
Dance Ihayami is an innovative performance company where classical Indian dance styles are explored through contemporary interpretations. I adore their work and as a student I have the fortune of learning from incredibly innovative (yet patient!) choreographers. I dance the classical (and impossibly difficult) Bharatanatyam and Mohiniattyam styles as well as Bollywood for a bit of cardio and fun!
Dance helps me keep a clear head and sweat it all out when I’ve had a long day. It makes me happy.
